Acoustic becomes electric

Unread post by DustyDave » Tue Dec 16, 2003 12:00 pm

Why spend money on a electric guitar when you can turn your acoustic into one ?

I didn't know whether to post this in General Guitar or in Guitar Gear , so it ended up here

Test out this little program for alot of cool effects , there is a sound sample below i did in a hurry so don't be picky picky

GuitarFX3 Only 1.3MB

Sample Sample = 2.1MB

i have a regular Line6 Electric amp (60 watt solid state 1X12) that i use with my Acoustic and i turn up the drive and let her rip. add in a DI and a delay and that shit is loud (i'm gonna tear the speaker someday doing this). open tuning on the 12-string and a slide going through that thing and i rock the whole neighborhood.

(just gotta remember to have some earplugs handy!)

Why you asked? I will tell you!

The electric guitar has a completely different feel. You can play rhythm a lot better with accoustic, it is easier to play melodies with an electric.

The point is , try making an electric to sound like an acoustic ;) Here you have both , of course its not the exact same thing , you don't need to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out

yeah. it'll be a while until i can afford a real electric, so this'll tide me over for a while, so i appreciate the saver. ;)

electric guitar against acoustic guitar are two different approaches to the same thing. each has their negatives and positives. i love both of 'em. :)
