i know theres gotta be some of you who know this - any tips? i'm learning it, its just a pain, i think im using the wrong fingers for stuff. any help is much obliged - thanks

its the intro/verse
i'm not really looking at the solo now, i think its beyond me
but -
i'm fretting the first chord like a 7th? i think? like a powerchord, no pinky finger. the hammer-on's i mostly get. i'm adding the 7 on the D with my pinky, and the 4h6 i'm doing with my ring finger, but it doesnt really ring thru. he doesnt use his thumb for anything does he? the rest is relatively easy, i love the song and i never thought i'd be able to play it. so anything you got is a huge help. thanks again man

solo isn't too hard...just takes some time to memorize:
as for the verse, i bar the bottom four strings on the 4th fret with my fourth finger, then move it up to bar the bottom 5 strings when the 4 is played on the A string.
as for what you're doing with adding the 7 on the D with your pinky and the 4h6 with your ring finger, that's what i do. it just takes some practice to get down and make it sound clear. it's easier for mayer with his humungo hands, though.
just keep at it. hope that helps.
