Program called TabIt, works pretty well, but the unregestered free version gives you only one continuous line of tab, but it exports to notepad nicely.

I use a very nieice program that takes time, but is good. I use it to tab DMB, Beatles/Lennon, Barenaked Ladies, and any other song I have tabbed out myself. I even use it to tab my songs down so I don't forget them. Now, this program is . . .

the difference between wordpad and notepad is that you can't use insert in notepad, and you can in wordpad. Other things such as color and so aren't available in notepad. Also, I believe that JKanter uses wordpad too. What I did is made a basic tab file, with everything put in for me to use on the tab, just copy and paste things. I just go into that, and get the tab done, and save it.

I use instab (free) for plain text tabs and guitarpro (not supposed to be free...) for tab+music notation
