I'm not about to explain the theory behind the chords you asked about, as I am a beginner myself and don't quite understand it all. However, here are some good interactive site that will at least show you the chord diagrams for whatever you need:

http://www.guitarschool.net/MEDIA/flash ... Dictionary. asp

http://www.chordbook.com/cb100/vguitar/ ... chords.htm

http://www.looknohands.com/chordhouse/g ... ex_db.html

Good luck.

don't learn the chords just to be able to play them.
Do only learn them, when you need them to play some song. Plus it's way easier to memorize them.

if a chord has a number after it (ie 7,2,9,11,13) it means to play that note of the scale

the 'maj' suffix is assumed and means major, meaning of a major scale
in other words, if its a major chord, you dont need to write maj
and 'm' is minor

could someone tell me what 'add9' and similar stuf means?
