Ah, I have a Gibson Les Paul Studio. It is 100 times better than a Strat. Les Pauls are much more versitle. They can play any type of style and sound perfect for it. Not saying Strats or Teles are bad, just they can't do all the things Les Pauls can, and I don't like the shape of the neck. Also, Les Pauls are built better. They are strong and will last.

Again, I HIGHLY recommend the Studio. I love mine, and I will never need another solid body electric again.

100% yes on the Les Paul.
Yes, I am in a box

there are certain things a tele can do better than an LP, it really depends on what you are looking for. i have an LP now, but i really want a tele also.

i personally like my Godin LGX better than les pauls but les pauls are much better than fenders. old fenders good, new fenders not as good.

that's funny, every luthier I know says that until you get into the custom models, everything Gibson's been doing lately quality of construction wise is pure crap.

tele has more of a "twang" sound, if you will...
both are set up with single coil pickups...

that is probably the biggest difference in prefference between Fender/Gibson...
PICKUPS:
Fender = single coil
Gibson = humbuckers
