So many Desicions!

Unread post by Beauford33 » Fri Nov 07, 2003 7:51 pm

Hey, right now I am in a pretty heated debate with myself. First of all, my main axe is a Chet Atkins SST and other then that, I have really no other good guitars. I am thinking about getting a 914ce since I dont have a acoustic. I have been thinking for quit some time now and I think I kinda wnat a Jerry Jones Baritone. Does anyone here know about these guitars and how they perform. I persobnally love the look of this guitar. BTW, money isnt a problem, I got enough :P

914!!!!!!!

however, you might consider a custom 814 with an engleman top. it'd probably save you a chunk of change, unless you really want all the abalone on the 914. they are damn beautiful though.

First of all, Since that is out of the way (and you have made my poor self feel even poorer), don't just go for the most expensive. I haven't played a 900 series from Taylor, but I have played just about every other series (thanx to Guitar Center). I played a 600 series Jumbo with Flamed Maple, and that was such a great guitar. The 800s will blow your mind, full bodied or with a cut-away. Dave does use a 714 as well, and it has to be for a good reason. Also, maybe this is just because it is my favorite, a w65 12 string. Seriously...a beast of a 12 string...I want one so much. Hopefully I helped. Now I am gonna go cry some more

well, I am getting the 914 because I am in love with that guitar. I am about sure I will get the 914. I thought about the W65 for a while, but I really dont play 12 string songs a lot. I am thinking about getting a decent cheapy once I recover from this next buy. I have played the 814 and all I can say is WOW. That is a amazing guitar. Actually, I am trying to get all my guitar stuff out of the way for a few years so I can start spending on drums. Its really hard to buy both stuff at the same time. I am planning on getting the 914 then I need a 12 then I need a electric. Thatll take me a at least 3 years to get. I am going to be dirt poor in colledge

It is kinda funny to me that you can say it will take you at least 3 years. I saved up for about a year, and all that I could afford was a $250 Ibanez that I promptly returned for a $140 Washburn. I say all of this in the light of the fact that I have an unnecessarily large wardrobe that consist of about $1600 in hockey jerseys...o well. If I got the w65, I duno that I could play it. I would just marvel at it. Good luck with all of your spending, and if you get the chance...send some of that $ to me (jk, unless you want to  ).

 And what is it that you do where you get $4k-$5k for the summer? I am 19 and at best made $2k one summer. Most of the money that I got from that quickly was spent on college. Geez. I am sitting on ~$275 in my bank account, and people think that I am rich bc I have that much...Besides, I couldn't buy a 914ce or a w65. It would be pointless to get something just to look at it  If I ever touched one, I am sure it would turn to dust...

well, year round I work at Players Bench(hockey) and then I have a Lawn mowing business during the summer. I get a lot of business during then. so yeah, I get money all by my lonesome self, my mom only gets me stuff I refuse to get with my own money(clothes and CD) but truth is, I dont get that many clothes anyway. I am very lucky I guess

Yeah, I guess that you are kinda lucky in that sense. My mother keeps getting me stuff and giving me money, but heck, if I can get a grant or two, I am going to Egypt for spring break...better than any guitar I think (well DM3MD, w65 and 914 excluded). Good luck with your hard work, and enjoy the guitar(s).
