Dadgum Pick

Unread post by jeffro » Thu Nov 06, 2003 7:13 pm

Anyone else occaisionaly drop their pick into their guitar? I do, and it doesn't even matter how hard I play, sometimes it just happens. It comes without warning, I may go without dropping my pick for weeks, and then one day, just jammin a little bit, it slips out of my hand and I hear it hit the inside of my guitar, and all I can say (or think, if someone else is right there watching), Sonofagun! Then you gotta shake your guitar upside down, and all that dust falls in your face, and then the pick falls to the ground and you gotta do the awkward move of picking it up with the guitar in your hand. It's just aggravating. Oh well, I guess thats part of playing guitar.

I hold my guitar up, shake the pick near the soundhole, reach in with my hand, tilt guitar towards me, and the pick falls right in my hand. Takes me five seconds, but yes, it does suck.

I have never had that problem of my pick going into the guitar. The reason why, I don't use one. No pick, no hassel :) .

Also, you shake your guitar and dust comes out of it, WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN DOING WITH YOUR GUITAR????????? :? :? :?
Yes, I am in a box

(goes to knock on some wood) Its always funny though when my roommate is jammin and halfway through a song I hear that little click and he stops playin and a big "SON OF A..." comes out. Then I laugh.

i use centrifugal force to get it out. you line it up with the soundhole, then flip the guitar really fast, and it comes out. looks so sexy too.

I havent dropped my pick in the soundhole in a while, probably because my chet doesnt have one  I used to do it a lot when I started playing, then I just started using 2 fingers plus my thumb to hold on it tight. I got rid of that bad habit and now I just pick regulary. Besides, I always have another pick in good reach whenever I play live
