Neon verse last chord substitution

Unread post by Buck23 » Wed Oct 29, 2003 7:48 pm

I was just playing around with this somg tonight, and I found this: instead of x-8-7-10-x-10 for the last chord, I started playing x-8-10-10-x-10, and it sounded pretty good with the same picking pattern...Mayer uses this chord a lot too, and I think it gives a cool kind of sound. plus it's wayyyyyyy easier to finger :D What do you guys think?

not that noticable but he does play the way the first chord is. What do you play on the part a little after 3 minutes into the song... its up on and the 8th and 10th frets but i cant figure out what he does and the tab doesnt seem right at all.

Right now I play the rest of the tab as is, but I might check to see if I can replace other similarly voiced chords other than the x-8-7-10-x-10, like maybe replace x-4-3-6-x-6 with x-4-6-6-x-6...it sounds ok in the verse, but I have no idea about the chorus/bridge...I'll have to play around with it when I'm not at work. peace!
