My first on-stage performance was coaxed by some ganj. Needless to say, some solos were well over 2 minutes...but it still went better than if I had been nervous as hell. Just go up there and be confident in yourself, just like anything else you do.
B+P by offer only...thank you

COme on, you don't need to drink. One thing is to get pumped up. Get excited, get upbeat. Jump around, act goofy. Just go crazy, so when you get out there, you are already energetic. That will help fight against stage fright. Also, if you screw up, or get nervous, make it known. Joke around about it. Don't let it get to you. Watch Dave, he goofs off, and screws around. Do that, it makes them feel like you are up there to have fun, and that's what they want to see, a person who is enjoying the music they are playing. Also, repeat to yourself over and over again, a lot, that you will not let it get to you (or somethint of that teffect). Make a big enterance, too. Also, most stagefright is right before you go on, or after you go on. Once you lose yourself in the moment, nothing matters.

Dude, just drink a few beers. Getting all worked up will only make it worse. You can still make fun of yourself if you drink a little. Then its actually even funny to you.Ranting Thespian wrote:COme on, you don't need to drink. One thing is to get pumped up. Get excited, get upbeat. Jump around, act goofy. if ya just take a shot of two of like JD or Jager or something ...that will help ...also if you just go up there and play like u don't care..that sorta helps ....remember only you know how you truly sound so if you miss a note or something ..chances are the audience wont pick it up so just keep playin as if it never happened..hope this helps and good luck.

i agree, it will cause you to play faster than you want which can really really take away from the performance. also, when you're pumped up and excited you tend to run out of breath (even if you're not doing any exercise) which cause you to sing worse. not to mention when i get worked up my voice shakes a lot. i gotta go w/ the alochol. if you don't drink, do something extremely relaxing right before you go on. drink something that you know will relax you.mbgreen wrote:Dude, just drink a few beers.
