Singing questions

Unread post by Dear_Joan » Wed Oct 08, 2003 12:53 am

Ok... I can hit the notes, so I don't sing false.
But how can I get a stronger voice? or can i change my voice completly when i sing?..
I think i sound like what a balloon would sound if it sang...
Is it just to keep practicing or is there som methods, tricks or so that i can do??

And one more question...
How do you get used to hearing yourself?.. it's know to everyone that when you hear yourself you don't hear what other hear... if you know what i'm saying... to yourself you sound like one of the muppets or so..

Sorry if my english totally sucks, i'm from sweden. =)

i don't know what you mean by you sound like a balloon would if it sang. but a few keys are to sing from your stomach, open your mouth plenty when you sing, (my teach always said 3 fingers). practice practice practice. im not sure you can really change your singing voice that much, its kinda like doing an impersonation of someone, you may sound like them, but you still sound like yourself. doing scales w/ your voice helps w/ accuracy and control. there is alot of good advice on this board about singing too.
