At the Union

Unread post by Ranting Thespian » Wed Oct 01, 2003 2:11 am

Well, it's been about 9 or 10 months since I went to open mic at the campus union. The first song I played there was the Stone (we get 15 minutes on stage), and they all loved it. The next two songs, an original and then No Such Thing, no one gave a damn. The next 7 times I went, no one cared, it seemed. Unless you were being loud and trying to be funny, or was with a band, no one seemed to care. Well now it's a new year, new students, and a new chance at a good crowd.

I am going tonight, thursday, and going to play these three songs:

Gravedigger
From the Outside Looking In (Turmoil Country) *an original*
Like A Rolling Stone

I hope that a high energy gravedigger will allow me to keep them for my next up beat loud song. Then, I wanted to close with something everyone would know. I wanted to do Hey Jude and try to get the crowd to sing along, but that was far fetch, so I decided to do one people seem to like on the street.

Wish me luck guys. I wish I could play more, damn it, lol.

Hell ya, good luck man.
I dunno about gravedigger. It's almost too early, well atleast in my eyes.
Hey Jude is a great one. As a matter of fact, anything off of that album is perfect. *cough* play revolution *cough* just my personal fave
But anyways, best of luck to you and hope the crowd is appreciative.

Good luck on it, and play more Beatles stuff, instead of that John Mayer crap.
Speaking of The Beatles, does anyone have a good idea (tab) for an acoustic Day in the Life?

"Will the people in the cheaper seats clap your hands? And the rest of you, if you'll just rattle your jewelry." John Lennon, 1963, at the high point of the group's set during the Royal Variety Performance before members of the British Royal Family

I was there with my friends. I was walking back to the table after I signed up for my time. I saw a few seats back from me, a person that I have mentioned on these boards, I think. When I saw her, I didn't get a great look at her, so I had my friend go and ask her name. It was her, Emily. I couldn't bear my emotions of hatred, depression, and love. So, I had to leave, and my friends came with me. SHE FUCKING SAVED AND DETROYED MY LIFE! I thought she went to an out of state college, but I was wrong. I hate love sometimes.

<=== starts thinking about halloween (since I normaly play that song with her in mind, but not the version I posted).

Damn bro, i'm sorry and pissed to hear that.

I agree with apps. Don't let stuff like that get in the way of what you want.
Try taking all of that emotion and play that much harder and better and aim your chin up high even if you don't want to.
