Tab correctly

Unread post by Ranting Thespian » Fri Sep 26, 2003 11:32 pm

Ok, I was shown this, and I don't think many of you know about this. This will make tabs much clearer on the boards, hopefully. Here's a tab just posted right from a courier font (the font that is used on the tabs at this site) to here.

E-----------------1----------------------------1----5------------------
B-----------------1---------------1------------1----3------------------
G------5---5------2---------------0---------5--2----x------------------
D-/7-7---7---7----3---------7-----2----/7-7----3----4------------------
A-----------------3---------9-----3------------3----5------------------
E--------------8--1---/10---10-----------------1-----------------------

Pretty jumbled. And some really get terribly bad. Now, there is a way so you don't have to copy it and change the font. When you are making a post, right under the subject line, there are a bunch of buttons. Now, if you select the tab, and press the code button -[*code] [/code*] (minus the *) will show up around your tab. Once that is done, and you post. This is what you will get

Code: Select all

E-----------------1----------------------------1----5------------------
B-----------------1---------------1------------1----3------------------
G------5---5------2---------------0---------5--2----x------------------
D-/7-7---7---7----3---------7-----2----/7-7----3----4------------------
A-----------------3---------9-----3------------3----5------------------
E--------------8--1---/10---10-----------------1-----------------------

Nice, neat, and ready to play. :) I hope I helped some of you guys with this, so we can all play along with pretty and neat tabs  [/code]
Yes, I am in a box

What about the end of the line that shows up at the bottom, that can throw me off sometimes.

click on the "quote" button, you won't have to reply or anything, but it will show up perfectly aligned if you are looking at it this way
