Electric time

Unread post by Appfro » Sun Sep 21, 2003 9:18 am

I want to start expanding my horizon and start playing some good electric stuff. good ole distorded easy riffs and solos. but im not sure what to start w/. im decent, i can get stuff pretty easy, so i want a challenge. i tried learning some chevelle stuff, but all there stuff is dropped down half a step on the guitar, then dropped to c#. id rather play something in standard. i was thinking about acdc but im not a huge fan. anyone have any suggestions? Think standard, think beginner to intermediate.

haven't tried 311. i actually like incubus, but id rather get away from a lot of effects. i want good solid distortion guitar pieces. that's why i was thinking acdc. i just really don't like them

don't kow about garbage. ive really only heard a few things buy them. maybe ill listen some more.

Tool

SRV/Hendrix (okay.. not technically standard as it's Eb/Ab/Db/Gb/Bb/Eb, but it's really really close)

Creed (Ode/Torn/Unforgiven/What If)

Foo Fighters (Monkey Wrench/Everlong/My Hero/All My Life)

Placebo (Every You Every Me)

Rage Against the Machine (lots of awesome rhymn parts, but some really crappy solos... Bulls on Parade, I'm looking at you.)

Red Hot Chili Peppers (Scar Tissue/Californication/hell pretty much anything)

Queens of the Stone Age - No One Knows

The Catherine Wheel - Sparks Are Gonna Fly

Eve 6

Toadies - Possum Kingdom

I think I'm naming random bands/songs I like now, so I'll stop. :D
