neon is pissing me the hell off need help
the damn beginning of this song doesnt sound right to me from this tab http://www3.sympatico.ca/g403z/txt/neon2.txt it sounds like there is another damn note in there not just the 8 and 10....wtf? Cany anyone put up a slow version of this?

IM not sure how long you have been playing guitar but in my opinion you should be heavily skilled in fingerstyle playing & you must be good with slapping. His thumb plays the bass notes and the others play the chords while slapping to maintain the beat.
Its an extremely hard song to play and yes Fire does a great job at covering it.
BTW, Are you in Drop C?
I would just practice until you think it sounds right and then roll with it.
A tab is like a recipe....It gives you the ingredients but you need to know how to cook to make it work.

Mofatt, I can relate to ya'. I have this friend who is amazing at lead guitar and I try to impress him all the time. At the same time I love music and everything its comprised of. Don't quit though, just keep on practicing. It took me 5 years to finally get Tripping Billies down to where I can play it flawlessly. I still work on songs that I learned back in 96' I guess IM just a perfectionist though. Anyway, practice,practice,practice
