chord notes...?

Unread post by Lying In My Grave » Thu Aug 21, 2003 3:46 pm

does anyone have something that has all (or most) chords, but saying which note is what & where? (for example, G = GBDGDG. and i'm looking for a chart like this for all chords.)
i really need to stop slacking and learn my scales.

Thats the best way to learn your fretboard, by learning what notes are being played on what strings at what frets. Its better than having it spelled out for you in text form. Makes you think a lot more, and learn faster. A lot more work though.

This is a sorta related question......once I learn all the notes on the fretboard, where does that get me?

Writing your own music, improvising, anticipating future notes, etc. etc. Imagine having a buddy just play a 12 bar blues with you doing a ripping Claptonesque solo over it, in key, sounding smooth as silk and as if you were born on the delta.

Of course knowing the notes on the fretboard is about 1/5 of the battle. The rest is theory my brothers.
