tonight after the show I'll tab wheel and bigger than my body. I havn't listened to them yet because I want to be surprised tonight. So yeah, then I'll tab them. I downloaded a show that has both so I'll hook it up ASAP.

missed mayer when he came 'round here. but hopefully he'll come back around again during his fall tour. he's been pretty consistent with showing up year after year.

anyway, glad to hear you had a good time gcom. been listening to come back to bed, wheel and btmb lately...great stuff. i hate the t-shirt design for the cd, though.

http://stores.musictoday.com/store/band ... 3COMBO.jpg

a silhouette like that accompanied with the line "heavier things." *cringe* but maybe i should get my mind out of the gutter. ;)

i'm diggin' wheel a lot lately. anyone have a decent sounding copy of Daughters?

Code: Select all

John Mayer - Wheel
Transcribed by Elliot Kleinfelder

note: Yeah, umm, there's a lot of variation in this song.
I believe that what I have tabbed is the basic structure
minus all the improv. There's a lot he does in this song
that is just really random and in my personal opinion, stupid
to tab out as it most likely is improvised. So yeah,
experiment with different chord shapes and hammer ons and
pull offs and such...extensions, extra notes...all that good
stuff in the key of F major/D minor...if you don't know what
that means, then just play what I have tabbed and dick around.
Enjoy.

intro/verse type thing...

e:---------------10-----|
B:--13--10----13----10--|
G:--12--12----12----12--|
D:--10--10----10----10--|
A:----------------------|
E:--10--13----10----13--|

other verse thing...chords go in reverse
order to get to chorus at atleast one
point so listen...

e:-----------|
B:--6--5--3--|
G:--7--5--3--|
D:--8--5--3--|
A:-----------|
E:--6--5--3--|

chorus/"you can't love too much"

e:-----------------|
B:--10--10---8--6--|
G:--10--10---9--7--|
D:--10--10--10--8--|
A:---8-------------|
E:------10---8--6--|

*John probably does something stupid like play
the X81010101X as 13X101010X...do what you
want if you want to be John Mayer, or have some
respect for rational thought and yourself and play
it as I tabbed it.

for real, I was so fed up with him but he just put on an amazing show. it was so weird because despite the fact that he was playing to around 20,000 people, it still felt like the same old john again. it definitely wasn't like that last summer and last fall it seemed like he was just tired. this year he had energy, enthusiasm, confidence, and he just knew who he was. the music was great and he really brought you in. Just a wonderful time all the way around. Come Back To Bed...goodnight...that song is just amazing.

I really think come back to bed takes the cake as far as his solos...the one he does in the middle of the song is incredibly moving and then the whole outro jam that goes on for about ten minutes is mindblowing as well...at a few shows he's been doing the "channeling musicians" thing again and showing how Buddy Guy, B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix and SRV would solo in the song. Then he goes, and this is what I'd do...it's really tight stuff. Download the 7/26/03 version if you can...if you want it, I can send it to you over AIM.
