john butler question

There is this tune that I really want to learn by john butler called ‘seeing angels’. From what I have gathered online, he uses a tuning that I am not familiar with.
B F# C# F# B F#

I was thinking about using a D string for the lowest string and dropping it down 2 steps because I don’t think dropping an E down 3 steps will work but I’m not really sure how to go about it.

Can anybody help me out?

I think just about EVERY JB3 song uses a weird tuning.
