So I was on my lunch break and I decided to go down to the local martin dealer.....
Low and behold I found myself staring at a HD-35....
I then picked it up and started playing it........that's when it happenned...I sprayed my shorts...
HOLY CRAP!!!!!! THAT IS THE MOST AMAZING GUITAR I HAVE EVER PLAYED!!! THE TONE!!!!!!!!!!! WHAT THE?????

Before I knew it I had been playing for 50 mins and was probably gonna be late for work.......oh well......

Moral of the story, if you ever decide to play a HD-35...be sure to bring extra shorts.. :D :D

It's on my list of guitars to own. I plan to have a line-up of great guitars.

i wouldnt mind having one as well as:

Taylor JCSM (love the band)
Taylor 914ce w/Cindy Inlay, Coco b/s, Koa binding (through custom shop)
Taylor k65ce
(Maybe) the Martin Eric Clapton or a DM3MD
Fender Eric Clapton Stratocaster (just because its claptons lol)
Gibson Les Paul Classic
Either a Mayes or a Petros... maybe both...

while i wont dispute the quality of both of the clapton signature models, why anyone would buy a guitar solely because it has his name on it is beyond me. but yeah, the hd35 is awesome. i like the tone on the taylor 700s better, but the hd35 is much more playable.

Hey funny thing...I played the 714 right after the hd-35....at first I was like...ummm nah.
The action was seriously high and it was a bit too bright for my taste.. started to grow on me.
I guess it's just come down to preference, one thing is for sure..... that hd-35 is gonna be MINE!!!! mmmmmmmmmmmHAHAHAHAHA...err..i hope... :D

yeah the action on the hd35 is almost like an electric. if you really like it, i suggest tracking down one of the carvin cobalt series acoustics. theyre more similar than youd think. all wood, ebony fretboard (i think thats what the hd35 has, but im probably wrong), fishman electronics and great tone, for like $700. my friend has one, and while i prefer the tone on my taylor 310, the carvin is a great value.

:D Iwas exactly the same way when I finally found my guiatar. I had saved up alot of money and took about a year trying out guitars. I had a beginners guitar during this time. I was like a majority of you at first wanting to buy a Martin or Taylor casue Dave played them but then I read the book Zen Guitar which I would recommend to any of you to read, Great book. The guitar that sang out to me was the last guitar I played.
I bought a Breedlove SJ-20 and I absolutley love that guitar. I had them install a Fishman gold matrix under the saddle pickup cause i wanted the most natural sound possible plus they talked me out of installing an adjustable pickup with EQ cause they siad it would alter the natural sound of the guitar. Sorry if I bored you with this story just a little rambling.
Peace :D
