What would you call this chord? It sounds roughly Eb-ish to me, but I'm not really a good enough musician to figure it out. Thanks guys!

I don't think thats right.. I'd probably name it an Emaj9sus4 because:
E(1) A(4) F#(9) B(5) D#(7) E(1)
Those, essentially are the intervals you need.. You have the 145 triad that makes the sus4.
To make it a maj11, you'd have to name it differently and try to make it a sus2, but since the 4 is in the same octave as the root, it would make more sense to make it a sus4.

B11 is different from B7(add 11). When it says (add 11) it means ONLY 11, and not anything underneath. B11 means 1-3-5-b7-9-11. B7(add 11) means 1-3-5-b7-11.SimsUK wrote:But there's nothing concerning the 9th in that name.
Exactly what I would call it. You have a B major triad in second inversion (F#-B-D#), with A (b7) and E (add 11). Essentially, it would be B7(add11)/E.

Chords can be named a lot of different things. What it should be called depends on the context it's used in.EatDrinkandBeMerry wrote:Cool thanks for makin me stop thinking I was going mad.Hydro120 wrote:B11 is different from B7(add 11).
