need suggestions for bar/pub tunes

Unread post by jojo321 » Tue Jan 23, 2007 3:30 pm

I am playing at a bar in a few months, and I need to get a songlist together. I love oldies and classic rock, and i figured that would probably go over better in a bar than my usual DMB/Dispatch/ acousticness. So I was wondering, if you were in a bar, what songs would you request/ want to hear. I am looking for songs that are more of crowd pleasers, rather than physically impressive songs. So if you guys have any suggestions, lemme know.
Also, I would like to hear if you have variations on Pop/Rap songs that can be played on an acoustic.
thanks alot duders.

every time I'm gigging round town, and some drunken idiot asks for me to play Sweet Home Alabama, I feel like smashing them over the head with my guitar.........and I would do, if it weren't for the face that I use a rather expensive Taylor....

the Chilli Peppers always get people singing, I just normally say at the start of every gig I do, "if you have any requests, just come up and ask!" and that's how half the gig gets played, cause I know THAT many songs, that I never know what to play
