my hand is hurting...
the fleshy part on your palm at the edge of your hand, under where your pink y is, is swollen I think too.
I think im doing something wrong.

i wouldn't do that. i would just play less for the next couple days and focus on correct hand form. it'll still hurt a little, but if you just quit cold turkey for a while, your muscles will just contract and it could make it worse. playing just a little allows them to still stretch a bit and loosen upGrachi wrote:yea... shit. hopefully i haven't messed up my hand/ wrist now. I had this happen occasionally before but thought it was just from playing a lot of dave (which tends to be stretches)...
I'm gonna lay off on the guitar until this weekend to give it a break.

Stop playing for a couple of days but still move your hand and do some stretching exercises.
When you play, make sure your left (and right) wrist is relaxed and let your left hand "drop down", putting you thumb at the back of the neck (not on the dots), unless you are playing some particular chords, like an A major or John Mayer stuff.
Make sure you do that, even if it's hard at the beginning. Play slower and make sure you have the right movements there, otherwise you might be developing a "handicap"...
Good luck man.
