guitar case question

Unread post by Grachi » Thu Oct 05, 2006 3:06 pm

I have a hard shell guitar case with the soft interiors. I noticed this awhile ago but didnt think about it until today, it has a certain smell when you open it but I was wondering if maybe that could be from mold maybe? I couldnt see anything physically altered in the case but I know mold can grow deeper then the eye can see.

I use to keep this little guitar case humidifier in there that was basically just a wet sponge in a plastic container with holes on top. I thought it wasnt the best way of humidifying my guitar because i worried that if i forgot about it mold would grow in there.

I dunno it doesnt smell bad kinda I dont know if it is just how the case smells or what, because I know I have had other friends who play other instruments and their cases all had a sort of weird scent to them too.

i dunno just wondering i dont know much about mold.
