Dont know if this is just a gimmick, but it looks to be a pretty good way of learning. It ranges from beginner stuff to full on improvised lead playing. Anybody got one?

V: Who? Who is but the form following the function of what... and what I am is a man in a mask.
Evey Hammond: I can see that.
V: Of course you can. I'm not questioning your powers of observation, I'm merely remarking on the paradox of asking a masked man who he is.

when the first thing I see on site advertises the product as "the best thing for guitar since tablature," I have to wonder.

EDIT: after reading/watching, it seems like a good idea. However, that would become a HUGE crutch. Better to improve the tried and true way than to rely on a gimmicky crutch, IMHO.

basically, if you learn to play guitar by following flashing lights, you will learn very quickly to depend on those.

Also, I can't imagine being able to play at any significant speed by following lights. (As opposed to sheet music or even tab where you can read ahead.)

Random movie quote to make you seem hip and "with it": Dr. Peter Venkman: I make it a rule never to get involved with possessed people. Actually it's more of a guideline than a rule.

I agree. It could be useful in learning standard position chords and their names (I assume people buying this are beginners)..but all the positions shown on the website are all up the neck. Why would beginners need to go that far up???

Its not just for beginners apparently. There's programs for lead solo and improvisation. I get what you mean by the dependency though.

Yeah, I don't think this kind of stuff is good for a solid and independent improvement...
