Left handed guitar store

Unread post by dmb_josh » Sat Mar 25, 2006 10:15 am

Noone in town (5 guitar shops) carries left handed guitars - on a good day there will be a single guitar at a shop and it always is on the low end. I'm wondering if a left handed guitar shop would make it. I know there are left handed players in town, and I imagine having a resource like that available would generate interest in guitars/music locally. Do you guys have anything like that where you live? Do you think it would work?

Im not sure, but if you want a guitar to be left handed, a luthier can just switch the bridge around, so I dont think there would be too much demand for that

Thanks for the imput. I think that is true to an extent, but it is a bummer not being able to go somewhere and sample a guitar that I'm interested in buying. I just wonder if it would bring the lefties together (like in the Simpsons episode where Ned opens a left handed store).

Sorry, I don't think it would really last. The demand for them isn't high enough to base a whole store on lefties. Maybe if you had a store that just had a section for lefties but even then they would probably only be able to keep popular models.
