Oh hell yeah. Everyone does. A few thinks to try... Copy the riffs/chord prgressions of random songs you like then mix up the structure, and timing, basically just mess around untill something sounds good 8-) One one thing I do to come up with new riffs and songs is just to turn to my handy Hal Lenard chord book and just sample around untill I find a progression that goes well, then try and make a solo for it. Also, try listing to new styles of music and see if anything rubs off on your.

Good Luck!

i like listening to a song that you dont know how to play. then just playing what you think in your head would be it, not even considering the notes. so like...take jessica by the allman brothers. if you dont know how to play it just pick up the guitar and try to play it with that rythym but dont fiddle around to find the right notes, just go with your first try. sometimes it sounds really good.

of course, that doesnt work if you have perfect pitch

I would say try some different tunings. Just mess around with stuff like double drop D or DADGAd, or lowering standard by a half or whole step. I've been messing with CGDGBe which is pretty cool because you can play alot of open strings using partial chord shapes and scales if you stay in the keys of C or G. Just a suggestion.

relax, nothing creative will come out if you are trying to force something. just noodle around, play covers, play other originals you might have.
