Hey, as you can see this is my first post, i have been wanting to learn how to play the guitar for a while now, but i have no idea where to start, such as, what is a good guitar to buy for a first guitar, and what is the best way to learn?? lessons? but aren't they really expensive? i am in desparate need of some help, thanks a lot in advance

a cheap good guitar is a jasmine by takamine...i like them....lessons are expensive and worth it BUT i took them and hated it so i learned on my own....the first 2 months suck....and ull plateu (not getting any better for awhile) at times but it will pass...im at one myself for a few months now....

any other ?'s

grab whatever guitar you can, learn some chords, and let your ears do the rest...

acquire knowledge along the way, take lessons later, and buy a Taylor 812ce :wink: Sounds like a somebody I know 8) :roll:

u know what i did to learn how to change cords fast was just learn some songs with differnet chords in it like Run around by blues traveler ....and do that wiht 3 or 4 songs until you have every major and most minor cords....but the first thing before this learn some riffs ...if u like blink learn the riff in damnit...just to get u movin around and comfortable with the pick...i know its not an acoustic song but still it will help....

it seems like the LIOG riff is a good one to start getting used to picking with. it was one of my first...not too hard...

I never took lessons, and i'm doin fine.. just learn how to read tabs if u dont , start out with some easy stuff and just keep goin from there... i never really tried to play dmb for the first 2 months or so because i thought it was too hard.. now i'm just gettin the hang of it... It takes a while to get it down (for me at least) just keep practicin man...

yeah i had a friend who had that guitar for four years and it sounded great. very cheap on musiciansfriend.com

Hehe i played a very unknown i would say , guitar for a few years , it was called Kimex , anyone heard of that ? Anyway i paid aroud 125$ for it , and with some D'Addario on that bastard , and people asked me if it was a Martin lol kinda funny really :lol:

Hey that don't look so bad at all , i mean some of the biggest producers out there which a very awesome sound , makes the worst kinda design lol

I've got this one... I think it sounds nice. If you're a beginner, I don't think you'll notice a lot of difference anyways.
