didn't really care for the song on the album(as with just about every song off either of his two studios), but i found an mtv.com acoustic performance of it that was pretty badass.
Code: Select all
Intro/Verse
e-6---------------------- ----
B-6-------7----6--------- ----
G-6---3---8----6--------- --5-
D-6---4---x----x--------- --6-
A-x---4---6----4---x--x-- --6-
E-6---2------------4--5-- --4-
^ sometimes ^
Chorus (pretty much the same, except for first line)
?
e-6---------------
B-6-------7---5---
G-6---3---8---5-2-
D-6---4---x---5-3- the ? works, but doesn't quite sound right
A-x---4---6---3-3-
E-6---2---------1-
?
"...if you want..."
e-6-------------------
B-6-------7---6-------
G-6---3---8---6---5---
D-6---4---x---x---6---
A-x---4---6---4---6---
E-6---2-----------4-5-
^ end here to bridge
Bridge
? ?
e-------------------------------------------- the 1st ? could be a type of E
B-------------------6-----------7--6~------2- chord...the bass note ALMOST sounds
G-3---2---3------6----6---6--3--8--6~---2--3- like an E. if that's the case,
D-4---3---4----6---6----6----4--x--x~---3--x- then the 2nd ? is an F for sure.
A-4---3---4------------------4--6--4~---3--1-
E-2---1---2---6--------------2----------1----
? ? ^ 4x
little trouble with the chords in "?"...if someone could help me out with those, that'd be awesome...
here's the video

Sounds good, bro. I haven't tried the bridge yet but everything else sounds close if not right. This is how I prefer listening to Mraz. Just him and Toca....

i didnt listen to the song.. but.. on identifying the chord based on the tab.. the first ? is DEF. an F major chord.. and the second is a F# major chord... that is, if you didnt tune down or capo or anything else.
.. unless im missing something.

ahh, that's not really what i meant. i knew the chord names of what i have posted, but what i really meant was i'm not sure if those are the chords that he's actually playing, and i needed a bit of help figuring those out
so yeah, it coulda been that you missed something

or maybe i was just about clear as mud(always a good possibility)

Any1 see Mraz on one of the late night talk shows wearing a pink short with the letters: TPIMGF
Do you think that stands for Tristan Prettyman Is My Girl Friend?
I do, and this girl is way to hot for Mraz - I truly believe this is calculated image construction to get this girl noticed, but I could be wrong and I really do like Mraz's music.

pretty sure that's exactly what it stood for. it's not really image construction, they've been dating for a pretty long time now (year and a half or so?) and she's toured with him twice.
