bad gig
bad gig
so i just had a gig like 5 hours ago we bombed
,(my and my cuz) we were messin up on guitar and his strap was slippin we were nervous becuz it was our first gig and he was forgeting his lines. how can i cheer him up and get him to shake it off? becuz i really wanna do some more stuff with him becuz we have good chemistry and can play good together. i mean i dont want him bein in the dumps about it becuz it wasnt really his fault we should have just played it infront of people from the begining and gotten used to it but we didn so we sucked haha. so any suggestions on what to do next time or how to get my cuz to shake it off.( sorry if this was confusing, i dont express myself good when i write/type or whatever)

well one thing would be to practice alot so that you have less of a chance of screwing up... but really a lot of people mess up their first time playing in front of people, if not everyone..... i mean its no big deal really, becuase you can always get better with more practice....i mean you either practice and get better and more comfortable.. or you stop playing..... the nervousness will pass... becuase beleive it or not, playing somthing, even somewhat poorly... will seem very good to people who dont have any expeirence around a guitar....
also , just go up there and have a good time, dont worry about making everything perfect
just tell him its not a big deal, and there will be more gigs... you guys will get better
hope some of that helped
and good luck!!

yea twostep is right, just keep praticing at home and go out and play live every week. I like to pratice at home using a mic, mixer, and headphones to emulate monitors, because singing on stage with a speaker pointed at you is alot different than singing at home in an empty room. Also remember that every group has bad nights, just learn from the experience.
also....find a way to record some of your shows, a mini-disk recorder is great for this. Listening back to shows helps me realize what works and what doesn't.

thanks to both of you, i figured we just needed to work harded and get used to the experience of playing infront of people...although yesturday it was most family and close friends but there were some people there that were around our age and i thiink the peers being there was what did him in.. i can also honestly say i wasnt really nervous, before we went on i was about to blow chunks but then we go up and im just as loose as i can be... i think its also becuz if gotten infront of more friends and family before and he just did this all at once. but sorry for the side note ha thanks again

Start playing at public places. Like go to a park or commons and jam. You'll get really comfortable playing in front of people you don't know... And it's a good way to meet girls. (It's how I met the last three!)

the vaginal fluid they are secreting is the same composition of urine minus the uric acid and phosphorous. i learned that in 11th grade anatomy. btw, sometimes it does have a FAINT smell of Pizzle.

I have never performed on stage for anyone so both of you have my respect for having the nerves to try it. It takes a lot of courage to do it.
The only analogy I have that might be close is public speaking. I used to be afraid to do it. I got real nervous and would start sweating just thinking about it. After doing it a bunch of times, I have gotten to the point were I have spoken in front of around 300 people. It doesn't even phase me to do it anymore.
Once you get comfortable with what you are doing it will come easier. Keep at it. It can only get better.
