so im sitting on this bench in a park while a friend of mine walks her dog and im jamming out on the guitar. im just playing some stuff i came up with when these kids walks up and asks if they can tape me playing guitar. they say there are 16 and they sure acted it(sorry, no offense to anyone). so they whip out this nice camera and say action. well so i ask them if they had any requests. as i strum my ACOUSTIC guitar, these whippersnappers ask if i know any system of a down. wtf. on my acoustic guitar? beat it you yahoos. anyways i told em i mainly play dave stuff and ofcoarse they only knew of crash and gray street. i gave them alittle of that and threw out some dave stretches. werent impressed though. oh well. just sharing my little story. i know that all 16 year olds arent like these guys but man, i pitty those who are. to you 16 year olds that feel the dave, i salute you.

Haha! I like System of A Down but I'm sure it would sound like crap on an acoustic. That's funny that they know so little about the music they like that they think you could do it on an acoustic

Tenacious D did it on acoustic. Those guys play some of the funniest covers I've ever heard on acoustic. Next time just bang on your guitar, make some grunts, and say the f word a lot. Simple pleasures for simple minds.

Peace!!

exact same thing happened to me. i was councelling at some youth conference type thing and these two kids saw i had my acoustic. i jammed some tunes for them and then one of them says 'i play a little geetar too' so i say 'take it away man' and he tries to play some heavy metal riff and a solo part to some obscure crap and after it didn't work he's like "yeah, i'm into the 'darker' stuff" and i was like 'whatever man'.

I got you all beat, like five years ago when I got my first guitar (Fender Jaguar) I was probably like 14 and so was my cousin. Anyways after I had had it for a few weeks my cousin came over and when I showed it to him he asked me if I could play and Bone Thugs N' harmony. He was 14 but christ man, thats pretty retarded.

Everybody always asks me how she's doing. Has she really lost her mind? I said "I couldn't tell you, I've lost mine."

a friend of mine only plays metal, and one day he was playing on an acoustic. he then got upset because there werent enough frets.... maybe he should just stop playing it then.

The coolest way to show up people like that, is to learn those songs. I was playing a gig one night, and these drunk bastards in the back of the room yelled out for me to play some Jay Z. So I did. "I'm a hustler baaaby, I just want you to know, ain't who I am, it's where I'm about to go." The whole place freaked out. So since then, if someone wants me to play a song I don't know, I learn it in hopes to play it for someone else someday. It's a great thing to see faces light up like that!

Peace!!
