Battle of the Bands!!!

Unread post by firedancer86 » Wed Mar 26, 2003 9:00 am

Well the time has come upon my school to have the Battle of the Bands!!!
We have some awsome talent in our group...a bass player that plays Bela, a guitarist that plays Hendrix and SRV, and a drummer who plays Coldplay...

I know I don't have the tapes that I wanted to put up YET (I'm still working on it - I got the one tape but they include only 40 sec. clips...not worth putting up)...

...at the risk of being labeled (they actually do already) and greeted with terms like " hey Dave!", we are planning to do CRUSH and an original I wrote (sounds like a head bopping Mayer/Dave/Williams jam)...

The date is April 9th...I want to get it taped and HOPEFULLY posted at some point soon...We will see what happens then...

Sweet fire. I don't know why, but I have an aversion to playing with other people unless I really know them and their stuff well. I don't find too many people who are good enough, have the same asthetic values as me, and are easily likeable, so I just keep doing the solo thing...

I take every gif I watch (which is A LOT) with a humongous grain of salt. But I don't let that grain of salt get into my eye and blind me to whatever truth can be found in what I'm watching. He is not any worse than any other poster here, and the people who claim he is just don't know what they're talking about. The demonization has gotten ridiculously out of hand.

Good Luck! I'd love to be able to play that song :) How hard is it?

meh
provided you can get a nice sounding jam in there, and your musicianship is alright, they don't mind.

There have been many an instance where I have been a little tipsy or a little high on stage and forgotten some lyrics to some prettty big songs, lol.. .but as long as you can jam them out and get a nice groove the audience will dig whatever you give them.

I know what you mean. I love playing with others, but most people just dont work out well. I think most musicians dont like to pratice as much as i do. I imagine you are the same way Tico-
