Washburn d10ceq electrical problem

Unread post by jokeyjokemaker » Wed Mar 02, 2005 11:46 pm

I am not sure if this problem is caused by my amp or the washburn guitar. When i plug the guitar into my marshall mg10cd amplifier, the only way it will sound is if i have the OD select button pushed in which is basically distortion. Now the guitar does not sound distorted, but that is the only way I can hear it through the amp. Also with the OD button pushed in there is always a fairly loud static noise coming through. I was wondering if the problem lies in my amp or in the guitar. The amp is not an acoustic amp, but i would think it should still play through without having the OD button pushed in.

I think amp. First get a new cable, then try another guitar if possible. Eliminate the possibility of the cable and the amp before considering yoru guitar might have bad wiring or something.
