I took an intro to guitar class last semester that was pretty cool. Learned a lot more than I thought I would but it was quite the beginner class. Still worth it if you have electives to take.

i took intro to music or something. no guitar. we learened everything on piano. i already knew it all though (it was a prerequisite) but its good to have a strong theory backbone, especially when you want to get more advanced with scales and stuff. i'd recommend taking a class, and even if you know it all already, its still fun to take (and its an easy A). and i bet a guitar class would be even better than the intro one i took.

At the Univeristy of Iowa I took a Fundamentals of Music course. Said it was beginners with music, and I knew my circle of fifths, modes, and other types like that and I still learned a ton. I tried getting in a 3 person guitar class, but it was music majors and it's main focus was heavy jazz stuff. They wouldn't let me take.

Thats why he said classes, not lessons. I'm also picking up a music technology minor so I can take some more classes.
