well, that pretty much says it, i've only touched a bass a couple times, but i love it! i'm good with guitar, and i wanted to know what i should do to make the transition to bass..
i wanna be able to jam out the bass well.. like i said, i know how to play guitar, i dont read music, i do know most of the notes though on the fret board... how should i go about learning bass?

well i started out on bass(and still love it) so i cant help you with the transition...but i do know that you need to know the notes on the fingerboard, thats very important in bass. also, just in case you werent sure, the 4 low strins on the guitar (strings 3-6, GDAE) are the strings on the standard 4 string bass, which, from low(bassy) to high is E A D G....i think tic tacs can help you most with this cuz im pretty sure he started out guitaring it

My good friend is a pretty good guitarist and he now plays bass in his band, for him it wasn't a hard stretch. If you're good at single note runs and have a knowledge of the guitar's fret board you'll have no trouble picking up the ole' four string.
