creating a secondary chord progression for a song
so basically i want to "fill out" or add some more depth to an already existing progression. I know the song is the key of A. How do I go about forming a progression to go over it? Basic chord structure in a certain key?
dont u touch nofx. ull get stds. just convert the chords to barre chords and slide around havin fun. like an A chord would be a barre on on the 5th fret etc.

TO KNOW WHICH CHORDS FOR A MAJOR SCALE:
A scale is as follows:
A B C# D E F# G#
henceforth:
In a major scale, your basic chords that fit... go like this.
the first one (first note of the scale) is major.
the second one is minor
the third one is minor.
the fourth one is major.
the fifth one is a major seventh chord.
the 6th one is minor.
the 7th one is a minor seventh flatted 5 chord.
So...
A Major
B Minor
C# Minor
D Major
E Major 7
F# Minor
G Minor 7 b5
are the chords that fit.
Play with those knowing which baare chord shapes fit with each.
if you dont know which barre chord shapes to use for major, minor, major 7, minor 7, minor 7 b5, etc...tell me..
maybe i can make a diagram and host it. 8)
(then you can use the shapes for aaaany song you want and slide them around and such)
