Question about alternate tunings and string life
I've been putting my guitar into a lot of different tunings lately, and I'm just wondering if changing the tuning frequently will have any effect on the longevity of the life of the strings?

from what i've heard and experienced, yes
changing the tension a lot really isn't great for the strings but it's just part of the game

mine don't wear down so much as i'll end up breaking one sooner than i would have if i haven't been changing tunings so muchdmbguitar718 wrote:Eh, I'm usually always in a different tuning, and my strings seem alright. I guess they do wear down a bit faster. I do use Elixirs though.
