Fingerpicking songs...

Unread post by GrateDMB21 » Fri Oct 15, 2004 11:45 am

Hows it goin? Wonderin' if you guys could help...I jus learned Ben Harper's "Number 3", such a great song...but I was wonderin' does anyone have any other recommendations for another good fingerpicking song? Something not really fast, but a very mellow rhythm (like The Beatles' "Blackbird"). Thanks

Metallica-Nothing Else Matters
Guns and roses- Civil War, Patience
Pink Floyd-Is There Anybody Out there?
Led Zeppelin- Going to California(Sketchy Tabs for this song), Bron Y Aur, Babe Im gonna Leave You
Opeth-Patterns in the Ivy (Easy but cool)
Heart-Crazy on You (the intro is a lot of fun to play)
Alice in Chains- Don't Follow- This song is pick and with fingers. but you could just do fingers.

Im glad someone posted a thread like this.. I love fingerpicking. Hope those songs give yah something to work with.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I actually started messin around wit "Bron Y Ayur Stomp" right before I read all your replies. Its kinda tough, but its definatly worth it if I get it. Does anybody have any suggestions or tips for playing this song...Do you use both a pick and your fingers for this song? Well thanks for all the replies, keep them coming

Jimmy Page uses a thumb pick. I've never seen a good tab for this song on the net. I can play the tabs from the net. but, im almost convinced its nothing what jimmy page actually plays.

I think the guitar to these two is the same, except the added guitar solo in the Smashing Pumpkin's version.
