I like listening to a lot of acoustic stuff and looking for some choices that many people have not heard of. Here are my favorites. Around here we get a lot of them playing at the Odeon for like $8-10. The one night got to see Howie, PMB, and Oval Opus on the same night. Great night.
Howie Day
Pat McGee Band
Dispatch
Guster
Jeff Buckely
Oar
Oval Opus

Ya i have been listening to them for a couple years now. I really like Dispatch's style too. Their songs are so catchy and they always use acoustic.
PMB is still my favorite though.

I totally agree with Nickel Creek. Chris Thile is such an amazing mandolinist. I saw that at Wintergrass last year. They were incredible.

if you love acoustic, you gotta hear Don Ross. he does nothing but finger picking acoustic guitar playing.. you wouldnt believe some of the stuff he does with his fingers. if you're new to him, try the song "klimbim" (yes, it's spelled right...)

I can't believe that we would lie in our graves wondering if we had spent our living days well, and I can't believe that we would lie in our graves dreaming of things that we might have been...

wilco.
and anyone like interpol? COMPLETELY different style from DMB but sometimes you just need some Joy Division style rawk.

Over The Rhine. just may be the second greatest band i've ever heard.
...and we're all thirsty
like drunks on Sunday
brooding like the blades of a fan on low speed
or a writer with only one good line.
