Quick question on a chord

Unread post by Stephen » Mon Apr 12, 2004 1:30 am

I've been searching through chord dictionaries online trying to find out what Dadd9 is. I give up. What I find sounds nothing like the chord on the song.

So can someone give me the tab to:

Dadd9
D/C#
D/F#

Sorry for the ignorance... I'm use to looking at tabs like on this site, however, on other websites they just have the chords and not the tabs. Thanks.

i think the add9 part means it has the 9th degree in it, which is e. so play a d with the high e string open. xx0320 but that might be a Dsus2... i'm going to go ask fatjack

A Dadd9 is the same as a Dadd2 which means you would need a root, 2nd, 3rd, and 5th intervals to make it. so thats a D, E, F#, and A to make it. you could play it as 2?0230 or 0?0232 - the ? meaning you can play or mute it and it wouldnt matter.

D/C# - x40232
D/F# was right

An easy way to make an add9 chord: Make a bar chord with the root on the low and and slide your pinkie up two frets. If you use the same shape withe the root on the A string you get a minoradd9. The intro chords in #41 and the ones used in Captain are also madd9. I really love add9 chords.

dont know about captain but im pretty sure #41 is just minor chords. it just has the 1, b3 and 5 for those chords.

That captain/41 shape with the root on the A string IS a madd9. Root on 6th is just minor though.
