what is nato? the sides and back of my guitar are made of it

a fancy word for really nice wood?

no.. it's some type of laminate i believe.. it's not solid wood is all i know

yeah nato is a laminate. its very similar to mahogany, but still a laminate. Its usually used on less expensive guitars.
