just some simple progression ive written, or somethin like jack johnson?MWR wrote:The point was not to diss your early efforts if that's how it came across. I certainly have a few recordings like that. But this is the world of the internet and all we have to go off of is what you share.
Post that simpler stuff. I'd like to hear something with open chords and a simple rhythm. Make that listenable and you're grooving.

but that is your problem since I never needed you to prove yourself to me in the first place (and you did a horrible job in doing so).praisedave wrote:gimme a week holmes. i need to get the taps up to speed and the bridges flowin... he slaps the base notes and if you play the fills he has live, there are a quite a few taps.dmbguitar718 wrote:Neon doesn't have taps.praisedave wrote:gimme a week holmes. i need to get the taps up to speed and the bridges flowin... i am confident in what i record, but i feel that a recording, especially a cover, gives the listener very little sense of the kind of guitarist the person is. im not makin excuses.MWR wrote:This "I play much better when I'm not recording" attitude is verbal diarrhea. The point of recording is to get an accurate perception of your abilities. If you don't feel confident in what you record in means you don't do it nearly enough or, like BK said, you're just kidding yourself.

yeah, becuz i can play ti with a pick, but i dont know how you'd slap the bass note. i def cant play that song fingerpicked. the toughest thing fingerpicked i can play is probably the intro to under the bridgeBeauford33 wrote:for neon?praisedave wrote:well i dont have the tabs for the live fills, nor a recording of them. does he use a pick?Beauford33 wrote:he slaps the base notes and if you play the fills he has live, there are a quite a few taps.dmbguitar718 wrote:Neon doesn't have taps.praisedave wrote:gimme a week holmes. i need to get the taps up to speed and the bridges flowin... yea, it is all played by hand. You must nto be playing it right then if you never slap. Hit my up on AIM so I can give you acoustic recording and you can here the slapping and other nuences that john throws in there. It is a tough song if you wanna do the syncopated rythms he is doing.praisedave wrote:yeah, becuz i can play ti with a pick, but i dont know how you'd slap the bass note. i def cant play that song fingerpicked. the toughest thing fingerpicked i can play is probably the intro to under the bridgeBeauford33 wrote:for neon?praisedave wrote:well i dont have the tabs for the live fills, nor a recording of them. does he use a pick?Beauford33 wrote:he slaps the base notes and if you play the fills he has live, there are a quite a few taps.dmbguitar718 wrote:Neon doesn't have taps.praisedave wrote:gimme a week holmes. i need to get the taps up to speed and the bridges flowin...
