I play guitar around girls so much and it just seems to repel them now. They're like oh look, a douchebag playing guitar... I get no respect for it, from anyone, it's all for me.

Maybe you're just trying to hard, I can't tell how, but girls tend to notice that.

jesus its so true- had my guitar in the lounge last year at school and a group of about 10 girls walk in - my roomie goes "hey denny, play crash, i bet one of em comes over" - fair enough i say and i start to play it - honest to god 5 of em came over and were goin crazy - and then of course one of em asked "oh my god can you play satellite too?!" like fishing with dynamite

i see so much of that. a lot of people only know crash, satellite, and WAYG. if you can play those three, people think you are amazing at guitar. but then whip out the OSW instro, or the stone, or Billies, and they're like
"that's cool too" but play crash again

it's kinda crappy. i'd rather people applaud me for something that took time to learn. but eh, whatever.

Unless someone plays an instrument they can't appreciate what goes into learning a difficult piece. I was the same way until I started playing one. They want to hear what they know, plain and simple.

i see so much of that. a lot of people only know crash, satellite, and WAYG. if you can play those three, people think you are amazing at guitar. but then whip out the OSW instro, or the stone, or Billies, and they're like
"that's cool too" but play crash again

it's kinda crappy. i'd rather people applaud me for something that took time to learn. but eh, whatever.

when i was in florida, this kid was trying SOOOOOO hard to get chicks to listen to him play the guitar. he was sitting on his room and chick would walk by and he start strumming away.

thats why i dont play the guitar when im at people's places all the time, i dont want to be that guy. and i definitely dont play a lot of dave songs if i do play, because i dont want to be that guy either

I'll only play guitar if someone asks me, and i'll only play someone a song if they sing and I play. Makes for some good laughs if they go for it, if not, a little hard to get never hurt.

With the bass, girls usually do'nt know anything except crush, so thankfully I don't have to revert to that.

Since you really wanted to know some songs, I'll give you some instead of being an asshole to the virgins.

Since starting to play shows regularly, one song I haven't seen mentioned that is big with the ladies is

"Wonder Wall" - Oasis, they love it, you'll always find em singin along.
and like everyone else "Crash" is a request every - single - time. But I love that song too, so I'm more than obliged to play it.

Keith Urban - Memories of Us - if shes a country girl, and alot of them are

Pearl Jam - Betterman has gotten a so so response id say, not a big piece of bait tho

Brown Eyed Girl - Van Morrisson

My girlfriend asks for zeppelin, and red hot chili peppers, and counting crows pearl jam ( under the bridge btw is a great song to play for any crowd). A LOT of people as for stairway to heaven.. that one seems universal, in that everyone knows it and everyone wants to here it. I never had to play my guitar to get laid so its hard to comment, however one thing that I do find is that girls tend to perfer guitar songs that are softer and slower (i.e. patience, babe im gonna leave you, bron y aur, colour blind, give a little bit, intro to 41).. But I feel this applys only when you are with a girl in a one on one intimate setting.
