i was about to say this. being able to copy someone else's song doesnt make you a good guitarist

good point, great guitarists are great songwriters. I just dont think anyone has good enough "chops" in 2years of playing to truly play that song, like King does, and in three days...
it didn't take him three days to learn the song, it actually took him a few months. the three days thing was about him relearning the tapping part correctly, which i still doubt he can play very well

ok... big response time...

acoustiplosion is early work. it was very bad. ill give it to you if you want because im proud of how far ive come in the 9 months since i posted that.

roylat: I was saying that i have a farily limited interest in music... my mp3 player has 17 artists but 2000+ songs. im picky. Im not saying there is nothing out there that challeneges me, im not saying that at all, ill slave over a fingerpicking song for weeks and it will still suck. But from the type of music that i am interested in i feel as though i have gotten the hang of the techniques used to play the aggressive rythm. So when it comes to acoustic rythm playing, yes i feel that i havent been challenged by anything ive learned lately. The stuff may be out there, but i cant find it.
Also, i posted a vid of myself playing phunkdiphied a while back, but that was before i realized (fj told me) that the bass notes from the tapping section are tapped with the left hand as opposed to fretting with the left and fingerpicking with the right as i was doing. so the tapping part in the vid sucks. thats why i feel that a vid is not necessary for me to prove i can play the tapping part fine now. I dont know why hes denying it, he helped me learn it. :/ I may be able to post audio today... and i dont think that you need to be a songwriter to be a great guitarist, i also agree that one song a good player does not make.

fj: ill show you i can play the tapping section, but can i have a little bit of trust in the future? you dont take me seriously if you think im lying out my teeth and I think thats why you are a cumdumpsterly jizzbin to me. i would be too if i thought some one was lying to me.

MWR: i take great offense to you saying that i am comprable to those suck ass people on American Idol. I know its hard fot you to believe, but there are people out there that suck way more than me. There are players at my school that have been playing for 7 years and havent gotten beyond powerchords and basic mediocre soloing. and thats with lessons. the fact of the matter is i am proud of how far ive come in my guitar in only a year and a half without lessons. I credit this website for all of my progress. i dont think im that good and im sorry if i come off cocky i dont mean to.

del: Sorry, i dont mean to come off pretentous, theres alot i have to work on before i am waht i consider "good". i believe i misconveyed my feelings in my posts.

Yeah. I'm not saying "Oh you suck, take lessons man" I'm just saying that they would help you alot. You haven't been playing that long, and you show alot of determination, and they would be very beneficial to your playing and knowledge of music.

do you have a reason? or are you just jealous because hes better than you?
For the record, I think it's very interesting how you try to 'dis this guy by saying he's not as good/and jealous of this this Trace dude.

In my experience people that accuse others of being jealous are usually jealous themselves. Although this may not be the case here, what's the point of trying to put this guy down? Someone posted this clip (again btw) and I think it's assumed on a forum that people will post what they think about it.

Not trying to pick a fight, but personally I take no shame in admitted I have much to learn in all things, including, but not limited to the guitar.
I agree C_tietz. This place is turning into Ant's

what does this prove? that you can play it very arrhythmatically? and you are STILL not getting any volume out of the tapping or sliding

hey, not bad for a 2 year old. you still have a long way to go on the song though, but keep at it, you'll get it, you're doing really well for only playing for 2 years, how much do you play everyday?
