i like the one you have now so much better. i much prefer the mahoghany to the rosewood b&s, and i love their clear pickguards over their ugly tortoise shell ones

best tone imo? yes with the exception of some of the really pricey woods. i think it sounds better than rosewood, maple, cherry, bubinga, cocobolo, wenge, and most cedars. i have however played some cedars, walnuts, and one brazillian rosewood that i liked more.
all preference i think

i'm looking on larrivee forums.. but it's all $2k +

the only guitar shop around me that carries them usually charges pretty close to retail, and i don't think they carry used guitars.. so although I could play some there, i'd probably be SOL finding a good deal.
