I can play everything, but the technique isn't quite ready. I'm working on the little odds and ends of the songs... You know the small things that make it sound amazing.

heres some stuff i do to make it different: (you'll see when i get the vid which i will say tenatively should be wednesday)
1) i dont do the thing he does where he slaps real fast all the muted notes in the beginning, i drum on the body of the guitar
2) i slap the body of the guitar with my left hand after the 12th fret slap harmonic in the "verse".
3) i do a whole bunch of weird things with the "chorus" (strummy part) I'll change the pattern and get some body slaps in there, ill go real fast and smuggly, or ill play it real funky with alot of mutes.
4) i often index slap the last verse (after the taps part) this is where i slap all of the notes with the end of my right index finger. it sounds real delicate but still funky.

the taps part is still by a longshot my worst section of the song, so i just leave that as is.

Yeah I do a few things differently too. You know the fast slappy part... Sometimes I give it a real big bend on the 7th fret low D. Although if you watch the latest video, he doesn't even do the fast slap, he just slaps it twice. I try to mix it up a bit, which is great because it just makes the song more fun to play.

I was reading through the posts for that one before I said it myself, good call.

I'm not necessarily saying in this case, but does anyone ever get suspicious at some of these folks and their "set lists"?

C
how do you mean?
I mean for instance I see certain folks listing certain songs and I just get the feeling that their set list if more of a "wish list" as I wish I could play all of these songs. Obviously without a recording or actually being there this can't be substantiated.

Fantasy is a beautiful thing for some, too much so. (And I'm not talking about the author of the post btw).

edit: audio is an option though
you'd better produce results on this phunkdified video, you've been building it up for months
i believe i said nothing about it for months. you built it up in your head!

i will produce it though, you neednt worry
Nah, I've heard this particular claim passed in certain circles for quite a while.

Put the rumors to bed, show everyone that you can do it. :)

ok... we got it recorded. the only slight issue was that the ac adapter for the camera didnt work so i had to quick charge a battery before he had to leave (with the cam) so i only got one shot at it. i think it was a prettty fair representation of how i play it, although my hand did slip of the fretboard once in the tapping section and there were the normal slight folleys. he said he'll get the vid up 2nite. (i dont have tv ports on mah cpu)
