Yeah Elliot, my guitar teacher can play insanely fast, complex rhythms, etc and I've only seen him play a classical guitar, fingerstyle. Id say he's probably as good as if not better than Tim. Not to knock on Tim, he is very good, but you know, overglorification, etc

Look, I normally dont say this without backing my argument up, but I feel you deserve it here. You may enjoy Tim's style more than anyone else's, which I can at least understand, but...

Youre on fucking crack.

You would never have heard the name Tim Reynolds if he hadnt played with Dave. I think the greatest guitarist of all time would stand on his own.

yeah, no joke, Tim's a pro-guitarist...pro-guitarists should have the technical proficiency he has, but other than that, there's nothing whatsoever that distinguishes him as a great. He buries himself by incessantly using speed instead of focusing in on melody...

speed is often times more fun to watch than nice melodies. However, I'd rather listen to nice melodies.
good, and you?

I agree too, but who here doesn't wish they could play solos like Timmy? I mean, we all cream our pants on Stream and his other solos...

eh.

I definately would love to be able to solo like Timmy. I'd love to just shred it up every now and then.

But I appreciate Clapton's solos a lot more...They just plain sound better

Stevei is one of the best there ever was, but come on. Go see a live timmy solo show, and you will see what he is, without a glimpse of dmb ever.

Timmy is the greatest guitarist of all time, hands down. I don't care about what anyone says, I have a SRV dvd, and I still like timmy more.

SRV, agian, fucking awesome guitarist, but timmy, there is no one better.
Idiot.

<=== keeps from getting really pissed from elliot. . . .

also, I wish I didn't find him through dmb. But, when I got astral projection and other stuff by time, I didn't hear Live @ Luther, and I barely heard his stuff with dmb, I just was talking with a guy about this guitarist that played with dmb, and I checked him out, and I fell in love.

I guess I am alone, but from all I have heard and seen from both artists (including my mom who saw him with me, and has seen SRV, Clapton, Chet Atkins, , Tim Reynolds, George Harrison, and many others), but I just think Tim Reynolds is the greatest.
Yes, I am in a box

There's no way to crown anyone the "greatest guitarist of all time" cause it's so damn subjective. There's so many amazing musicians out there, you take each one for what they are and what they aren't. Let's leave the superlitives to Rolling Stone.
