you sir are a dumbass. you obviously haven't listened to a lick of phish...
you are outrageous if you think that stefan is a better bassist than mike gordon. not only is mike an awesome bass player, he is just a talented all-around musician. he plays banjo, sings, and is a very talented composer.
and if you would have to be retarded to think trey isn't musically gifted. he is probably one of the most talented improvisers ever
never did i say trey was not musically gifted. i actually said he is one of the greatest musical minds of our generation. but, he has never impressed me with his guitar playin. same goes for the bassist, im open minded though, tell me what songs to listen too or link me some clips.
no reason to get angry, we just havin a nice exchange here
This is pointless for people to say who the most talented bnads are. Espoeacially when musical ignorance is invovled.
unless this thread is "who do you think the most talented band of all time is" this is pointless
re-read the opening post there tiger
edit: ohhhh the masterful edit... ill add what you originally said...

just recently stated by praisedave and earlier someone mentioned a three-piece...that brought to mind Cream. Clapton(easy top 10 guitarist) Bruce(top 10 in my book, definately up there regardless) and Baker (dont know how to rank drummers but from what ive read...)
phish is talented, but they dont top cream.
allman brothers have always had some great people, from the beginning with duane to the now with haynes, oteil, etc.
im not claiming any of these as the most talented, but i think this is an interesting discussion and those came to mind

phish were talented songwriters... but musically? trey's not even that good
huh? what? que?
I think you need to listen to a little more Phish andy, because they were very musically inclined.
ohhh by no means am i bashing them... but i think they're behind dmb...
GAH????
I think Phish could play circles around dmb, that is if they still played. But it's a matter of opinion I guess.
well im definetly less versed in phish than dmb, but from what ive seen Carter

if your not gonna compare dave and trey you cant compare fish and carter. different styles, different motives. what about page, holy shit hes a god. trey also is a god...
andy i suggest you go buy a copy of Junta or the IT dvd, infact get both, but if you cant, get IT, itll open your eyes and blow your mind.

I think Umphrey's harmonizing and guitar work is absolutley mind-blowing. However, I give Phish the upper hand because of sheer experience and age.
