Seriously, I would love to be able to play like that. I'm constantly trying to get into straight ahead jazz because I know there's a lot to learn from it but from a pure listeners perspective Gypsy Jazz is just so much more compelling and fun. Granted I'm no expert on Jazz but the Django stuff is so much more listenable imo.

I dont like the comments made on trace bundy. Playing and talents are something, but trace got the originality to compose great and enjoyable works. I have no complaint on him. I have no right to say hes inconsistent, amazing as he is.

I don't think he's too original, though his stuff is all right and he's a very good player. I think he's just a pretty annoying guy in general.

Canon is quite possibly the worst piece of classical music ever. Let's see that motherfucker play some Rachmaninoff.

Oh, since I'm being such a Negative Nancy, here's a really cool video of a player named Don Alder. I think he's Canadian.

His composition doesn't get me terribly excited, but he's got some astounding technique going. You can see more videos on the front page of his website.

That's true, I'm just being an ass. And at least the average music fan recognizes Canon, which I can't say for ol' Sergei, unfortunately.

Thanks

Check out that Gerardo Nunez vid. That song kicks all ass and the upright bass is frickin sweet. I wish I new what the song was.
