definitely. eastern instruments would be cool to play...a lot of what timmy does on acoustic guitar he took from his time playing the sitar, and you can hear traces of that influence in a lot of his track. awesome instrument.
anyway, lover, you should've come over is one of my favorite songs that has influenced me both lyrically and musically. gives me the chills...love the beginning of it on Grace, too.
and dave's voice would definitely make Hallelujah interesting. i'd love to hear him break out some yells and stuff like he's done for #40, etc. mm.
Good unknown bands?

it's funny; lover, you should have come over has inspired me too. it's not my favourite of JB songs, but it's definitely very influential... and, oh, Dave screaming 'hallelujah...' i get chills just thinking about it.
my dream is to some day be able to walk into a pawn shop somewhere and find a nice sarod or sitar (not that i'd be able to tell quality) and pick up and just teach myself to play it. that's what the guitarist from the tea party did with a sitar that he found for $250 cdn. and they're the band that really got me into eastern melodies (and alternate tunings).
i'd settle with just using sarod tuning on the guitar, but it's CCCGCF, and i don't like the idea of tuning A up to C.

i haven't had a chance to do so yet (I heard them for the second time tonight) but the song Privacy (i believe that is hte one) is DAMN sick.
They're a great jam band and their guitarist is very, very good.

he's a new local here, and he came from oregon. I saw him live, and he is bursting with true music, and you can feel all the emotion. There is a song of his, Last Call, about death row, very moving, and very sad. You can get his stuff online

Oh, he is also acoustic, and sometimes does joking songs, like one about mary tyler moore, lol.
I love this guy, if you get a chance to, seriously, check him out.
