the thing about Mayer is the voice

This is the place to talk about guitar playing not done by Dave! Topics about techniques, styles, theory, and other guitarists go here.

I have to agree with whoever it was that said 'shut up and play.' Even then, there's so much better music out there I doubt I'd give an SRV poser much attention lol.

Quoting "Song of Myself" while hating John Mayer simultaneously? That's fantastic.

Your Walt Whitman quote is from his poem(s) Song of Myself. I wasn't really clear in my post, sorry. Lol.

You don't like John Mayer and you enjoy fine literature, that's sweet, since both are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Whitman equals amazing talent and skill with words while Mayer equals a lack of talent and skill.

Peace,

CJT

No prob, the only thing we need to worry about now is to get you to resign your position within the I Hate the Yankees Club.

You must live near Fort Meyers. Lol.

I live in MA but hail from NY. Can't forsake my original home team.

How did I guess that? Lol.

I know I'm off topic, but the Sox actually have a decent shot this year.

How can you guys think mayer is bad? Mayer is so fricking awesome. I mean his voice is not the best but he is just as good lyricist if not way better than dave matthews!! Not to mention his guitar playing blows dave out of the water in some respects as for soloing and such. I mean if you have heard covered in rain by john mayer and still think he's horrible than I'll let you go. But if your just one of those people who heard that lame song your body is a wonderland or something and hate him than your definitely judging too soon. You all listen to Covered in Rain and tell me what you all think after that. Because john mayer is fricking amazing.
