Ahhh there is nothing like a few good war stories to share!

I used to always set my guitar flat on the ground next to me when I would be at my computer. Well one night I had both my acoustics out and I had set one of them done on my right side(my favorite one) and grabbed the other one and played it for a bit. Then I went to set it down on my right side and bam, bam, I had forgot about my other guitar already sitting there! I nailed my one guitar sitting on the ground with the one I had in my hand. It put two horrible dents right into the face of my guitar. Needless to say I was very upset and it took me a long time to get over it.

Now I always try and put my guitar back on the stand or in the case if I am not playing it even if it is just for a few minutes.

Here's one that will make you feel better: A few years back a buddy of mine who I used to play in a band with had just bought a gorgeous brand new sunburst american strat. He was convinced the neck needed adjustment because he was going to put on heavier gauge strings. So he pulls out the wrench and turns it..... and turns it a little more.... And then CRACK!! he splits the neck. An $800.00 guitar turned into fire wood! I swear that was the most sickening sound I've ever heard! It's the main reason that I will NEVER do a neck adjustment on a guitar no matter how slight.

My bro once put my electric onto a wall hanger "stand" I have put in my room, and *BOOM*, it fell off, luckily onto a dresser I had dirctly below the hanger. but, it chipped my $1300 just a mere month or two after I got it. Now, I have no problem with it being chipped.

Character marks, I guess.

1300 dolalr what?

id prefer to have a guitar that is broken in a lil

if its brand new, it just takes a lot of work to keep it that way, and it looks like you never play it

He did. It was just the point of the guitar being brand new and then trashing it before he really got a chance to play it.

i could be wrong, but i know that if you have an acoustic and keep it without any strings on it, it can damage the neck, it needs some tention to stay in proper shape. it might be different for an electric. but you might want to put some strings on it, or the neck could warp. get a second opinion though

I've gotten over it, for the most part. :) I expect to put wear and play marks on it. It was just to soon to put a stupid ding on it.
